If you are aiming for a right hard core digital camera, probably not SLR, what would be a good word? I want a camera with a capital macro tune-up. I’m pretty persuaded I’ll be getting a Nikon, and stillI am curious about CoolPix. This camera I plan on using for artistic phottos, so I’m after really nice quality – not a ridiculous rectangular thing used to make pics of the school party, you know? hahaha. Thanks everybody.

As far as you are seeking for a pro camera you have to think about a DSLR. A Coolpix is no way a professional camera. Professional is SLRs. You can not take pro quality photos from a point and shoot. Considering that you want to look at the Nikon D5000! Its a great camera for a professional and amator. You get 12.5 MP and a so much more for just a Grant (with lens). Good fact about the Nikon’s is they are momentaryly on. Not nesessary to wait for the camera to “warm up”. You hit the on switch and shoot pictures.
